From skips to security.

When I was about ten, my father bought a big new radio. It was the only one he could afford. That night, I took it apart.

By the next evening it was back together, and it worked. After that, my father and I started pulling things out of skips: radios, televisions and, later, old computers. I’d bring them home and take them apart to see how they worked, and what I could bring back to life.

That curiosity turned into a career. I went to college, then went back to train properly in networking, troubleshooting and building PCs from the ground up. Today I run Leixlip Computers, repairing PCs and Macs for people across Kildare and Dublin.

Over the years I kept seeing the same thing: people losing access to their email, paying fake invoices, or finding out their website had been hacked. The damage was rarely clever. It came through settings that were never switched on and passwords used everywhere.

Digital Trust Ireland is the answer to that. It’s the security side of what I do, explained in plain English, for small businesses and families who don’t have an IT department.
